Grant applications were due on March 16th for eligibility for 2025 funding through the Northside Community Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation (NCF/GCF).
The organization received 9 spectacular applications this year. Unfortunately the total requested was twice the amount that was available. GCF allocates the amount of money available each year from the endowment, while ensuring everybody that NCF will be around to help fund Northside-based nonprofits in perpetuity.
More than 25 Northside-based nonprofits have received funding from NCF. For a complete list of all 91 projects funded, now totaling over $120,000 to date, please head to the NCF website.
The 9 applications this year were of the highest quality, drawing reaction from the entire NCF Board that ideally all requests would be accommodated.
The organization is thrilled to add MoBo Bicycle Co-op, Visionaries + Voices and Liberty Exhibition Hall to the growing list of Northside-based nonprofits that have funded to date.
NCF is pleased to once again provide funding to the Northside Farmers’ Market for their summer youth program, “Power of Produce,” NEST for the opening event supplies at their planned pocket park, Northside Youth Soccer for practice field goals/nets, Northside Community Council for seed money for the planned #niteMKT event in Hoffner Park, Northside Greenspace for the stipend for a naturalist to lead walks in Parker Woods for Parker Woods Elementary students, and Caracole for marketing material for their Annual Christmas Tree Sale.
Added to the list this year is bicycle parts for Mobo’s Bicycle Repair Program, Visionaries + Voices’ “Show of Hands” Puppet Festival, and seed money to the Liberty Exhibition Hall for a Northside-based jazz festival this autumn.
