Imagine a top tier conservatory-trained pianist from one of the world’s oldest eastern cultures meets a self-taught American musical wild child and they form a band –that’s Primal Static. The duo has been creating music that’s a mercurial mixture of east and west as well as rock, blues, baroque, folk, electronic and more. Panstylistic, Primal Static’s newest project, offers a diverse collection deserving of its name. The band will also embark on a fall tour beginning in September to support the EP.

Primal Static’s songwriter/singer/guitarist G.T. and keyboardist/bassist HouFei are lifelong musicians from completely different musical and cultural backgrounds. The two met in Baltimore when HouFei was pursuing a doctoral degree in piano at the world renowned Peabody Conservatory. She recalls that G.T. was a furious wildfire that lit up life and music for her. A heart-wrenching guitar solo met her the first time she called his answering machine. Time stood still. That was the beginning of Primal Static.
