Young Heirlooms – Cookin’ Hearts – Whitfield Crocker at NST

Join us for a night of folky goodness at Northside Tavern. This show has been a long time in the making, and we’re super excited about this lineup!

9:30 – Whitfield Crocker
Such sounds are the cooked up musical musings of local guitarist/songwriter Benjamin Thomas. As a longtime sideman and collaborator in other bands, this project and moniker is the starting place for his own music as the lead composer, arranger, and vocalist.
Benjamin works with a rotating cast of some of Cincinnati’s finest musicians to create a truly unique musical experience with each performance.

10:30 – Cookin’ Hearts
Local folk quartet consisiting of Joe Hart (Guitar/Vocals), Alex Cook (Banjo/Vocals) Abigail Westwood Haidle (Flute/Vocals) and most recently, Matt McCoy (Upright Bass). Cookin’ Hearts original compositions push the boundaries of what you might expect to hear from a traditional bluegrass or celtic instrumentation. The group utilizes all 3 vocalists to create luscious vocal harmonies and a variety of different timbres and textures as each vocalist and instrumentalist takes his or her turn in the spotlight.

11:45 – Young Heirlooms
Storytelling through song is an American tradition. Acclaimed Cincinnati songsmiths Young Heirlooms take you on a nostalgic journey with their sentimental, heartfelt original tunes. Music and lyrics composed by Kelly Fine and Chris Robinson are based on family history, personal experience, and adventures on the run.

Anticipate the timelessness of bygone musical eras and dynamic lyrical themes. The antique instrumentation comes with a contemporary kick. This six piece band has the ability to resonate with a wide scope of audiences, giving them a do-not-miss reputation throughout the Midwest.
