Happy December, welcome to the last little bit of 2017. What year it has been.
Chase Public is delighted to host a reading from poets Emily Rose Cole, Amie Whittemore, and M. Brett Gaffney. We hope you’ll join us.
Emily Rose Cole is the author of Love and a Loaded Gun, a chapbook of persona poems from Minerva Rising Press. She has received awards from Jabberwock Review, Philadelphia Stories, Ruminate Magazine and the Academy of American Poets. Her poetry has appeared most recently in Nimrod, Phoebe, Raleigh Review, and Southern Indiana Review, among others. She holds an MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and is pursuing her PhD at the University of Cincinnati, where she teaches creative writing and composition.
Amie Whittemore is the author of the poetry collection Glass Harvest (Autumn House Press, 2016) and co-founder of the Charlottesville Reading Series in Virginia. Her poems have won multiple awards, including a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize, and have appeared in The Gettysburg Review, Sycamore Review, Smartish Pace, Cimarron Review, and elsewhere. She teaches English at Middle Tennessee State University.
M. Brett Gaffney holds an MFA in Poetry from Southern Illinois University. Her poems have appeared in Exit 7, Rust+Moth, Permafrost, Devilfish Review, museum of americana, BlazeVOX, Apex Magazine, Tahoma Literary Review, and Zone 3, among others, and her chapbook Feeding the Dead is available from Porkbelly Press. She works as co-editor of Gingerbread House and lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her partner and their dog Ava.
