Come celebrate the release of the Cincinnati-based compilation Siyavakeshela vol. 1 featuring new work from: John Bender, Amanda’s Scanner, Ofir Klemperer & Josiah Wolf, Nanny, Slow Crime, Stella, Marc Governanti, Pete Fosco, Zijnzijn Zijnzijn!, Andrew Elaban and many more!
All proceeds from CD sales go to the Malindza Refugee Camp Library in Mpaka, Swaziland.
Friends from Denver’s D.I.Y. community will join the bill for a night of exploratory noisemaking.
John Bender (Cinci): “the holy grail of minimal lo-fi electronics. Layers of fractured melodies, distorted synthesizers, hollowed-out rhythms and claustrophobic vocals unfold over the 40 minutes of this lost masterpiece. ” – Superior Viaduct. Coming off of a triumphant return to performing live following 2016’s No Response Festival, John Bender’s art-damaged music sounds as vital, challenging and enjoyable today as it did in the late 70’s-early 80’s.
French Kettle Station (Denver, CO): Luke Thinnes from the much beloved Cop Circles returns to Cinci with his deeply romantic and lush synth-pop project. Swathes of Morrisey, Black Marble and Drab Majesty belted out from a single keyboard and some of the best dance moves from THAT side of the Mississippi.
