Izzy’s and Urban Artifact Pickle Brew Release Party

Join us on Friday, July 14 from 4-8pm as we celebrate the release of the new collaboration between Izzy’s and Urban Artifact – Pickle!

This summer, fans of Cincinnati’s iconic deli, Izzy’s, will have the opportunity to enjoy Izzy’s famous pickles in a whole new way – as a beer, as Izzy’s partners with craft brewery, Urban Artifact to launch Pickle.

Based on a German-style wheat beer with a sour finish, Urban Artifact’s Pickle is a traditional German Gose (pronounced “Goes-uh”) brewed with 1,000lbs of cucumbers, 2lbs of fresh dill, 9lbs of sea salt, and 1.25lbs of coriander per 30 BBL batch. The end result is a taste experience similar to that of biting into a fresh dill pickle.

“Our brewing philosophy is to use only the best ingredients in our beers such as whole fruits, spices and vegetables; no flavorings or extracts,” said Scotty Hunter, Chief of Strategic Development for Urban Artifact. “Izzy’s has the same mentality with everything they create and they’ve been a great partner to work with. Plus, there is no better example of this philosophy than an Izzy’s pickle!”

To unveil Pickle to the public, Urban Artifact will host a tapping and can release party on July 14, 2017 from 4-8pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy Pickle in both cans and on draft, with six-packs available for purchase. Adding to the festivities, guests will enjoy complimentary “Izzy-tizers” from Izzy’s and will have the chance to walk away with fun Pickle swag.

“In addition to Reubens and potato pancakes, one of the things we are most known for at Izzy’s are our pickles,” said John Geisen, President of Izzy’s. “It’s been a thrill to work with Urban Artifact to bring the taste of our famous pickles to life as a craft beer.”

In addition to being available through the Urban Artifact taproom, after the launch, Pickle will be distributed in limited quantities at various retailers across the Tri-State as well as at select Izzy’s locations.
