DESCRIPTION:Chase Public looks forward to a night of new music performed by The Syndicate for the New Arts (Cleveland\, OH) as well as a duo of pianist Brianna Matzke and flautist Annie Darlin Gordon. \n– \nBrianna Matzke (Cincinnati\, OH) is a pianist who also wears many other hats: music educator\, weird sounds fiend\, Kevin Spacey fan\, arugula muncher\, awkward list maker. A graduate of CCM (masters and doctorate in piano performance)\, she teaches piano lessons at home and she is on faculty at Wilmington College. She also currently serves as president of the Ohio Music Teachers Association Southwest District. Her ongoing commissioning initiative\, The Response Project\, asks composers to write for the piano in response to a pre-existing artwork or idea (and was the inspiration for Chase Public’s Response Project). SUMMARY:RISE Coalition Happy Helping Hour and Artisan Craft Sale
DESCRIPTION:RISE Coalition is an organization working to end the act of acid violence worldwide and help survivors of these horrific acts move forward in life supported and empowered.  I was first struck by the survivors’ heartbreaking stories and then moved by their courage and strength.  I also fell in love with the beautiful hand crafted pieces that the survivors make as a means to raise funds for themselves and the oraganization.  I searched my heart to find a way to help.  Certainly\, together\, we can do more than I can on my own.  So friends\, here is where you come in.   \nOn July 14th please come and do your part in helping these amazing men and women in a Happy Helping Hour at the Listing Loon.  You will be able to purchase the beautiful artisan crafts and/or make a donation to the Acid Survivors Network.
