DESCRIPTION:Stay creative and keep learning ALL year long with our new embroidery club! We will meet once a month for an entire year (First Tuesday). Each month\, you’ll recieve a new Dropcloth sampler that highlights a different family of stitches\, increasing in difficulty. \nEach meet-up will be a laid-back mix of teaching and hanging out and sharing our projects together. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks. \nEmbroidery club fee is $150 (You can pay quarterly\, $38 each time). This includes 12 Dropcloth samplers\, 5 inch embroidery hoop\, one needle and 10 DMC color skeins to get you started. Further hoop\, floss\, and needle purchases before or after each class meet-up will be 25% off. Please pre-register at the tickets link. We cannot guarantee enough samplers if you don’t.  \nOur first class will start at the very beginning so absolute beginners are welcome but all skill levels can use this class to expand their knowledge of different stitches and experiment. DESCRIPTION:Looking for something to read? Do you trust the taste and generosity of your friends and neighbors?  Do you have great taste in books? Are you feeling generous? Join us! for Chase Public’s first ever Book Swap\, cohosted by Lauren Byrd. \nHere’s how it’s going to work: \nIn the tradition of cringe-worthy family holiday white elephant gift exchanges\, we are asking each person to bring one book (you don’t have to wrap it).  It should be a book that you enjoy\, that you sincerely recommend- but know\, you won’t be getting it back.  It will be a true gift from you to another member of your community.   \nOnce the event begins\, we will circle up\, and everyone will have a few minutes to give a brief overview of the book they have brought- a chance to explain why you like it\, why you think other people might\, and a bit of what the book is about. \nAfter everyone has shared about their contribution\, we will place our names and contact info onto bookmarks\, place them into books\, and place books on the table in the center. Then we will each draw a number from a hat\, and following white elephant rules\, whoever draws number 1 will make their selection.  After that\, number 2\, 3\, etc. will have the option of either stealing the book that person number 1 selected\, or selecting a new book from the pile.
