They came to rock.\nWith major festival dates already behind them\, a killer album in their pocket and and the likelihood of even broader acclaim just around the corner\, for Future Thieves the horizon line has no limits at all. \n/// Hello Luna ///  \nHello Luna is an alternative-rock band that blends smooth pop vocals with varying dynamics of indie-rock instrumentation. The concept of Hello Luna began when Kenzie Coyne (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) was recording demos and was introduced to session-drummer Michael Neumaier. After several months of preparation\, Kenzie decided to make the move from solo-artist to a full band. This is when the band found Diego Villasmil (bass). Each member has been musically involved in separate projects over the last 10 years\, but it was all solidified as of January 2016. The band’s first release “Stitching Holes” was a demo with the pure intention of introducing the sonic concept of the band\, but it received a great reception by being played on radio station CD1025 along with write ups from the Columbus Dispatch and online blog site TunedUp. On March 11th\, 2017 they played to a sold out crowd at The Basement (a PromoWest Productions venue) celebrating the physical release of their first EP called “Ghost Of You” in which contains the band’s first radio single called “Sound and Sorrow”. \n/// Talk Mouth ///  \nWhat started as a solo project by Aaron Disney\, around 5 years ago\, quickly developed into a full band in late 2016 after coming together to play a couple of gigs. Now\, with their first full length\, DIY album\, released just 6 months after forming\, Talk Mouth is making waves with their unique sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Featuring a solid lineup of bass\, mandolin\, and guitar\, they span the best of American roots music–lonesome harmonies\, honest songwriting\, and heartfelt picking. They trace the lines between bluegrass and country\, jazz and folk\, old-time and the blues\, distilling their favorite elements of these traditions and blending them into finely-crafted songs. Together\, they have developed a style that is fluid\, fun and connected to the present.  \nThe band initially formed in early 2016\, when Forrest Marowitz (upright bass)\, Daniel Ullom (mandolin)\, and James Horbett (guitar) began swapping tunes in a community kitchen. They have been performing regularly together ever since and have shared the stage with notable acts such as Elephant Revival\, Billy Strings\, Head for the Hills\, and Rushaad Eggleston. Their energetic and diverse shows are the result of countless hours immersed in Seattle’s rich music scenes—song circles\, bluegrass festivals\, square dances\, jazz tributes\, and busking corners. The trio can play for dances or listening halls\, often for hours without repeating a song and improvising arrangements as needed.  \nTheir debut album Hateful Ways\, released in January 2017\, was recorded live to tape on a Tascam 388. “I was reading Ralph Stanley’s memoir right as the material was coming together\,” recalls Ullom “and he talks about when the Stanley brothers would record multiple albums in a single day around a condenser mic—that level of musicianship is pretty inspiring.” The 14-track album features mostly original songwriting and is full of honest performances and effervescent improvisations. The first track Hateful Ways fits solidly in the bluegrass tradition\, complete with lonesome harmonies and fiery solos.
